Delete account and data
You can delete your "Academic Mentor" account yourself at any time — in the app or on this website. If you can no longer sign in, we will delete it on request by email. There is no notice period and no reason you need to give.
1. In the app
Open "My account" and tap "Delete account". You are asked once to confirm; the account is deleted immediately afterwards.
2. On this website
Sign in and open "My account". At the bottom of the page you will find "Delete account".
3. Without access to your account
Write to info@academicmentor.science from the email address the account was created with. We delete it within 30 days and confirm the deletion to you.
4. What gets deleted
Your account and sign-in data, your projects and chapters, uploaded documents, notes and transcripts, the entire assistant history, and your messages to the mentor. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone — save anything you want to keep beforehand.
5. What we have to keep
If you have paid for something, tax law requires us to keep the payment record (ten years in Germany). That record holds the amount and the date, but no content of your work. Subscription payments themselves are handled by Apple or Google: to stop an ongoing charge, cancel in your App Store or Google Play account.
